A 100W USB-PD power supply for modular synths
The USB Power 2 is a 100W-capable USB PD power supply for modular synthesizers, for those times when your setup needs serious power.
The project is a collaboration between us (Repowered Electronics) and MMI Modular. It’s a successor to MMI’s USB Power, but is USB-PD compliant and capable of 10x more power.
The USB Power 2 is not in production yet, but will be soon. It will be priced at around $300 (USD).
Use the form below to express your interest in buying one. Once we receive enough interest, we will begin production and notify you via email.
Feature Summary
- USB-PD integration with support for up to 100W (20V/5A) input.
- All standard USB PD voltages up to 20V are supported (so you don’t need a 20V capable source to power it at lower power).
- Dynamic current limiting based on negotiated power budget, supporting use with lower-power USB PD sources.
- Compatible with non-PD enabled USB power sources.
- As long as total power usage falls within the negotiated USB-PD power budget, the supply is capable of:
- +12V | 8A
- -12V | 4A
- 5V | 3A
- (x6) keyed IDC connectors on PSU module
- (x4) Molex MicroFit expansion headers to distribute power to a larger system
- Chainable bus boards with (x10) keyed IDC connectors each
- Optional 4hp power input panel with power switch and real time voltage/current statistics to monitor system usage.
